Francien Dechesne is Associate Professor of Ethics and Digital Technologies at Leiden University. She also holds the endowed chair of “AI and Data for the Rule of Law” at Tilburg University (a position shared between TLS and TSHD). She studied mathematics and philosophy, holds a PhD in Logic, and did postdoctoral research on formal methods in computer science, privacy by design, sociotechnical cybersecurity and responsible data-analytics.
