Inês Hipólito is soon starting as a permanent Lecturer of Philosophy of AI at Macquarie University. Her research focus will be on cognitive development and the exploration of how augmented forms of cognition (AI) both shape and are shaped by the sociocultural environment. She is also a co-PI on the consortium project “Exploring and Designing Urban Density. Neurourbanism as a Novel Approach in Global Health” funded by the Berlin University Alliance.
She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Wollongong, a MA in Philosophy from the University of Lusofonaand, a MSc in Neuroscience from the King’s College London, and a BA in Philosophy from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. After her PhD, Inês took a postdoctoral and lecturer position at the distinguished Berlin School of Mind and Brain and the Philosophy Department at Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin. She was granted the prestigious Talent Grant from the University of Amsterdam in 2021. Inês is also co-founder and vice-president of the thriving International Society for the Philosophy of the Sciences of the Mind, which is a growing community with over 600 members.
