Marta Pérez Verdugo is a PhD student in the Centre for Life,Mind & Society of the Department of Philosophy at the University of the Basque Country, under the supervision of Xabier Barandiaran. The aim of her PhD is to research the new cognitive ecologies that digital technologies constitute and how they shape us as autonomous agents. Her research interests include cognition as a natural and situated phenomenon, with a focus on the technological environment in which we as organisms are immersed. She has a keen interest in how we relate to our surroundings and to other organisms and how we evolved to do so.
She holds an Interuniversity Master in Logic & Philosophy of Science (Philosophy of Language and Mind module) from the Universidad de Salamanca, a Master in Neuroscience from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
