Nathan Wildman

Nathan Wildman is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy of the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences, as well as a member of the Tilburg Center for Logic, Ethics, and Philosophy of Sciences. He was a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Glasgow and collaborated with with Prof. Dr. Schnieder at the Philosophy Department of the University of Hamburg. He holds a PhD in Philosophy, which he obtained at the University of Cambridge.

Hi research focuses on issues in metaphysics, philosophy of language, logic, and aesthetics, with a particular interest in the foundations of metaphysical modality and the connection with other metaphysical notions like essence and fundamentality. He also conducts research on the nature of fiction, the logic of fictional truth, and the aesthetics of interactive fictions such as video-games and augmented/virtual reality. Next to this core set of research topics, he is also interested in topics in the philosophy of mind, the history of analytic philosophy, and philosophy of technology.
