Rachel Anna Billington

Rachel Anna Billington is a PhD candidate at the Department Of Politics in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Otago. Her thesis revolves around identity, affect and recognition online and focuses on young New Zealanders with the goal of understanding how teenagers across Aotearoa find belonging and recognition in online spaces, with an interest in how exposure to particular social networks might contribute to identity formation.

She holds a Master of Politics (Distinction), a Graduate Diploma of Science (Psychology), and Bachelor of Arts (double major in Philosophy and Art History).
