Will Marler is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication and Cognition at Tilburg University. His research centers on digital inequality with an emphasis on poverty, aging, mobility, and cities. Among other topics, his work explores the role of mobile phones and social platforms in shaping processes of social support and social capital in marginalized communities. He applies ethnography, interviews, and surveys to explore these topics and engages in community-based research with organizations serving marginalized communities to understand inequality in the digital age.
